The range of pay for those who have graduated from a nursing college varies from $22.00 an hour to over $40.00 an hour for most RNs. Sign-on bonuses are offered by many medical institutions who are trying to encourage newly-graduated RNs to take employment with them. LPNs make slightly less than RNs and are required less education. RNs can gain more responsibility and can quickly gain management positions within private clinics and hospitals. These management positions come with more responsibility, require supervisory skills, and the pay increase is exceptional. Nurses are important and are constantly in demand. Whether a person chooses to complete a CAN course or to further his or her education and obtain a LPN or RN degree, the medical field is an exciting and challenging industry with appealing pay and benefits.

Education requirements for nursing students are dependent upon which nursing degree the person wishes to obtain. Nursing specialties are available in the LPN and RN levels of nursing. Nursing assistants can take courses to be certified to test the nursing field or to supplement their income with a part-time job. Education requirements for advanced nursing degrees require human science courses such as physiology, biology, chemistry, anatomy, and mental health. Associate and Bachelor degrees in nursing can be obtained. These typically take two to four years to complete though condensed, rapid acceleration courses are offered by many institutions.
Nursing Work Environment:
Work environments for people who have graduated from nursing college can include sanitized hospitals and doctors’ offices. Some nursing students choose to work in neonatal areas of hospitals and private clinics upon graduation. This environment will be specifically intense, quiet, and focused upon infant care. Elderly centers and assisted living homes typically offer a more informal environment and nurses often form friendly associations with patients who are in long-term care facilities. In generally all areas of nursing fields’ nurses wear scrubs and comfortable shoes which will offer them support for long hours at a time. |
